The largest lite that I have and also the one I use the most is the Phantom Lite Infrared (IR) flood light. With a whopping 50 hi powered LED’s this unit provides my camera with all the light I need in most situations. The Phantom Lites are a little on the large size (3 ¼ x 4 ½ ) making them bulkier and heavier.

Phantom Lite has a good selection of LED lights from green, red, white, and even full spectrum. Their lights can be a little on the high side when it comes to the price but I feel they are worth it. Running on a single 9 volt battery you can get about 6 hours out of the unit. They have improved this design over the years so you now have an easy to open battery compartment door, The old ones had to be taken apart by removing 4 screws to change the battery and was not an easy task in the dark I’m told.

There are a couple of things on this light that I would like to see change but I can deal with them as is for now. The shoe mount is at a little bit of an angle because of the housing box design so the light points up a little bit. I would like to see this light as well as others with an adjustable mount so you could aim left right up or down making it easier to optimize the lite in your video. The on off switch can be bumped easily and when storing my light I have done so and drained the battery. You just need to pay attention a little more to what you’re doing and these problems can be avoided.
