Taphophile Corner - The 2011 Series!

Summer… the long awaited season of choice for taphophiles everywhere!  I make sure to pack a lunch, then grab the bug spray, suncreen and camera.  After that, I’m ready to hit our fantastic New England cemeteries.

You love cemeteries too?

But you’ve never been on a tour?

And you don’t know where to start?

Well then…. I have exciting news for you!  The long-awaited 2011 Sunday Cemetery Series is just about to begin.  June kicks off the series with a trip to one of my absolute favorite spots, Eastern Cemetery, in Portland, Maine.

Each month throughout the summer season and into October, there will be one cemetery per month highlighted. This year there will be history, cupcakes, guests, witches, surprizes and even more thrown in.  Learn about your state and the people who made it great, the people who carved the stones and the everyday struggles these folks faced. Learn what symbols mean and why they were used. You won’t  believe how much there is to learn!

Some of the tours will have fun extras, plus we will be traveling further than ever before!  You won’t be dissapointed for a second.  So watch the MGH meetup list, save yourself a spot, and get a super cool MGH t-shirt.  Then - meet me in the cemetery!
