Our "Request and Investigation" Process

If you're requesting an investigation for the first time, chances are you're not entirely familiar with how we go about involving ourselves with your case.  That's what this area is for.  Here's a brief outline on the steps we take to ensure a quality Maine Ghost Hunters paranormal investigation experience for you, and for us.

  1. Client fills out an online application titled "Request an Investigation".
  2. We receive, and do an informal review of each form.
  3. A senior Maine Ghost Hunters member will contact the client at soonest opportunity.
    1. This contact will normally take place via a phone call so leave your phone # if you feel comfortable.
  4. A brief preliminary interview will take place, and we'll take notes on basic information about your case.
    1. MGH will want to know if you consider your case to be "an emergency", at this time.
  5. Maine Ghost Hunters will discuss your case at our next meeting and determine what steps to take from here.
    1. Some available options are; accept the case, refer the case, or decline the case.
  6. The next step for our clients is to fill out the lengthy, and fully involved, "Long Form".
    1. This page (not just the form) will time out, and all answers will be lost if it is not submitted in 120 minutes.
      1. If you think you'll need more than 120 minutes (2 hours) you can submit the form in pieces.
        1. ex. complete questions 1-10 then submit it.  go back and do Q's 11-20, then submit it, etc...
        2. Please be as detailed as possible with all of your responses.
  7. MGH will discuss client responses to the "Long Form" and determine if an in-person meeting is in order.
  8. If we can schedule a pre-investigation meeting, Maine Ghost Hunters will:
    1. Present the client with legal and liability waivers.
      1. MGH cannot proceed with an investigation unless all forms are signed & witnessed.
    2. Tour the location, inside and out.
    3. Take pictures and video of the location for team discussion about equipment placement, etc...
    4. Further interview residents/occupants of the location by elaborating on responses of previous questionnaires.
    5. Discuss the 3 best dates/times to coordinate an investigation with the Maine Ghost Hunters team.
  9. MGH will contact the client at our earliest opportunity to coordinate an official investigation date.
